Role Overview:

Reporting to the co-CEO this role will be initially focussed on developing new business prospects and independently selling our new product to R&D focussed companies, IN-PART: Discover.

The product helps R&D companies launch research calls to identify and connect with universities globally in order to fund new research, establish collaborations, long term partnerships, and ultimately benefit society. You will use your relationship management and negotiation skills to grow our client base by approaching new clients by telephone and email, planning and preparing presentations and communicating our product offering.

You will receive a two month training program to learn how to demo and sell the product to senior R&D executives (Head of R&D, Chief Scientists, Lead Engineers).

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Increase revenues for IN-PART by hitting & exceeding sales objectives each quarter
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing and new customers to win new business
  • Identify, establish contact and develop relationships with new prospects. Listen to their needs and highlight the opportunities IN-PART can offer
  • Drive the sales process from prospect to close, negotiating and closing deals
  • Work with your colleagues in the company to identify opportunities for selling, up-selling and cross-selling to increase company revenue
  • Support the co-CEO in the creation and execution of sales forecasts and pipelines
  • Develop in-depth market, product, and sector knowledge
  • Provide client and prospective client feedback to internal teams to inform their processes and ultimately future product development
  • Represent IN-PART at events, conferences, and exhibitions (currently virtual, but in person internationally when possible)
  • Be an effective team player with strong customer service, communication and presentation skills, which can be adjusted depending on the product and audience
  • Keep accurate records for the creation and execution of sales forecasts and pipelines.

 

Required Experience:

  • Background in new business development and selling to enterprises
  • Evidence of the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Experience of exceeding targets
  • Educated to degree level (ideally STEM) or demonstrates equivalent relevant experience
  • Ideally 2-4 years experience in a target-driven sales role, ideally telephone based B2B sales (desirable, transferable skills considered)

 

Not required but would be great:

  • Experience of working within the R&D or higher education sector.
  • Knowledge of the R&D and/or Higher Education sector
  • Passion for helping university research impact the world

 

Note: we will consider candidates with no prior experience in sales but have strong communication skills and passion for the IN-PART mission, to help university research impact the world.

Role Summary:

We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to join our communications and marketing team. Reporting into our Communications and Marketing Manager and Virtual CMO, this role will cover all elements of our marketing strategy and presents a unique opportunity for an enterprising marketeer to make a mark on a small global business driving positive impact through connecting the university-industry ecosystem.

The successful candidate will manage and optimise our end-to-end conversion funnel, paid digital campaigns, and product marketing programme with the aim of driving engagement with and acquisition to our products, IN-PART and Discover. 

Our ideal candidate will bring experience to the role from delivering successful performance marketing and engagement strategies. Experience with paid digital campaigns, email marketing (Mailchimp), CRM systems (Zoho and PipeDrive), and Google Analytics is essential, as is optimising conversion through the entire marketing funnel. 

 

Key accountabilities

  • Tracking and optimising conversion and performance through our entire marketing funnel
  • Developing and deploying a nurture/conversion email and CRM programme to increase acquisition to our premium-tier products
  • Developing and deploying impactful engagement strategies to increase levels of activity with our products
  • Setting up and managing paid marketing campaigns to drive user acquisition alongside our content marketing strategy
  • Owning and expanding our product engagement programme (which currently includes webinars, email marketing and direct marketing)
  • Assisting with the development of a bespoke CRM to deliver automated, personalised engagement campaigns through our marketing funnel

 

Performance measures

  • Increasing conversion rates across our marketing funnel
  • Increasing monthly user activity levels with our products
  • Bringing in new users via paid campaigns at cost
  • Raising levels of product education within our audiences
  • Converting free user to paying clients

Job Description

We are seeking a senior full-stack Typescript/Javascript developer to help us create backend and frontend applications for our growing product range.

Working alongside a team of seven (including a mix of junior, mid-level and senior devs) and under the guidance of our product manager, you’ll take a key role in delivering products to our end users. Demonstrable experience of working in and leading a team is essential for this role.

You will have strong project management skills with an excellent ability to communicate complex problems, estimate timescales, and give regular updates to both technical and non-technical team members. Due to company expansion, we are now seeking an Academic Liaison Intern to join the Sheffield team in our current remote working set-up. As a start-up company, we’re looking for creative, enterprising individuals enthusiastic about research happening within life sciences, engineering, or other technological disciplines. They must be passionate about translating university research into new technologies, products or services, which have an impact on the world.

 

The role:

You will be largely working within the Discover team to identify academics, research projects, and technologies to satisfy the research needs of Discover’s industrial clients. After an initial introductory period, typical responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting online research into areas of industry client interest to identify suitable academic research opportunities
  • Liaising online and offline with academics and Technology Transfer Officers regarding new technologies and collaboration opportunities
  • Analysing the research interests of large multinational corporations and SMEs
  • Managing academic project submissions and helping to summarise cutting-edge research
  • Liaising with colleagues to create communication strategies
  • Report writing
  • Participating in regular internal knowledge-sharing sessions to learn more about advancing research areas as well as researching and disseminating information on topics that interest you
  • At times, helping other teams to identify relevant industry professionals to engage with university client technologies

 

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Graduate from any STEM degree discipline
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the business
  • Self-motivated and able to keep accurate records of work
  • The ability to manage time effectively, work to strict deadlines, and maintain a high standard
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have knowledge of IT suites (such as Microsoft Office, Google Apps etc) and exceptional online research skills
  • Be excited to take ownership of a role and driven by an enjoyment for understanding new research and its transition into commercial applications
  • Possess some knowledge of research areas within life science and engineering disciplines or high-tech sectors, and ideally, have some knowledge of technology transfer.
