Our system launched in January 2014 and has to date brought together 250 universities and research institution with over 6,500 research-intensive companies, ranging from some of the world’s biggest corporations to regional SMEs.

Role Overview:
Reporting into the Co-CEO and Business Development Manager this role is will be initially focussed on developing new business prospects for our BDM before training and independently selling our new product to R&D focussed companies, IN-PART: Discover.

The product helps R&D companies launch research calls to identify and connect with universities globally in order to fund new research, establish collaborations, long term partnerships and ultimately benefit society. You will use your relationship, management and negotiation skills to grow our client base by approaching new clients by telephone and email, planning and preparing presentations and communicating our product offering. Initially generating prospects for the BDM but with a midterm view to building an independent client base with a view to becoming a BDM.

You will receive a two-month training program to learn how to demo and sell the product to senior R&D executives (Head of R&D, Chief Scientists, Lead Engineers).

 

Key accountabilities

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with existing and new customers to win new business
  • Work with your colleagues in the company to identify opportunities for selling, up-selling and cross-selling to increase company revenue
  • Develop in-depth market, product, and sector knowledge
  • Effective communications, which can be adjusted depending on the product and audience
  • Complete Account Management activities as and when required including, but not limited to, develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identify opportunities to upsell and upgrade, and support the renewal cycle.
  • Update the CRM to ensure the CRM accurately reflects your sales activity through the buying stage to move Leads and Opportunities to Closed Won or Closed Lost status.
  • Ensure your clients have signed contract and orders are processed in accordingly

 

Performance measures

  • Achievement of required weekly and monthly activity levels and sales yield levels
  • Revenue Targets
  • Achievement of pricing and discount standards as required by the Company to generate appropriate revenue
  • Following pricing and discount guidelines, escalated where applicable
  • The ability to use this knowledge of market, competitors and economic trends to increase sales revenue through improved targeting and tailored sales activity
  • Providing reactive, creative business solutions and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels
  • Achievement of targeted value and volume renewal rates, and positive feedback received from clients
  • Accurate and efficient management of CRM
  • CRM updated and information processed and handled in compliance with GDPR regulations

 

Additional skills and responsibilities

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, in particular, a highly professional telephone manner
  • Strong organisational skills and record-keeping
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve targets

  • Knowledge of the R&D and/or Higher Education sector is desirable

Experience

  • Educated to degree level (ideally STEM) or demonstrates equivalent relevant experience
  • 1-2 years experience in a target driven sales role, ideally telephone-based B2B sales (desirable, transferable skills considered)
  • Past experience of CRM systems (desirable)
  • Proven track record of sales performance

Role Overview:

We are looking for a person to work alongside the Office Manager and finance team to provide administrative and accountancy support. The main job duties are detailed below, but may also include other ad hoc duties.

Duties:

  • Inputting purchase invoices on the system
  • Filing invoices
  • Creating sales invoices, allocating and matching incoming payments.
  • Matching and inputting credit card receipts / reconciling
  • Creating sales quotations
  • Maintaining accurate records of data / data input
  • Liaising with the account managers to prepare renewal quotes
  • Preparing, send and chasing renewal quotes
  • Completing procurement forms
  • Liaising with procurement teams
  • Exec assistant duties for the co-founders

Essential skills:

  • Strong Organizational skills and the ability to coordinate different tasks in parallel and meet deadlines
  • Accurate recording keeping
  • Basic knowledge of finance systems i.e. VAT
  • Accounts Experience (purchase ledger)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent Excel and Word experience
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, or similar document design systems
  • Knowledge and experience of finance software
  • Confident written and verbal communications skills

Experience:

  • 1-3 years past experience in similar role (transferrable skills considered)
  • Use of CRM Systems (Zoho preferrable)
  • Experience of Google-mail and Google-suite (Google Drive)
